Terrorist group members complain such announcements don’t serve interests

JAFFA, Israel – A Hamas official’s claim his group held a meeting with advisers to President-elect Barack Obama has prompted infighting within the terrorist group, with some top members complaining such announcements do not serve its long-term interests, WND has learned.

Ahmed Yousef, Hamas’ chief political adviser in Gaza, told the leading Al-Hayat Arabic-language newspaper earlier this week Hamas held a meeting with Obama aides in Gaza and has maintained regular communication.

“We were in contact with a number of Obama’s aides through the Internet and later met with some of them in Gaza, but they advised us not to come out with any statements, as they may have a negative effect on his election campaign and be used by Republican candidate John McCain (to attack Obama),” Yousef told Al-Hayat.

Obama’s senior foreign policy adviser, Denis McDonough, told the Jerusalem Post Monday, “This assertion is just plain false.”

Then, in a well-circulated but false report, the Xinhua-China news agency claimed Hamas released a statement yesterday denying it held any meetings with Obama advisers.

The statement, obtained by WND, did not deny the terror group met with Obama aides.

“The report in Al-Hayat was not accurate,” began the carefully worded Hamas statement, without identifying which part was inaccurate.

“Hamas does not comment on our private diplomatic activities. Ahmed Yousef’s statement and his opinions represent himself only. He is not a Hamas spokesman,” read the official Hamas statement.

A top Hamas source said Yousef’s announcement of meetings with Obama aides generated a “small crisis” within the terror group.

“We were not ready to make any such announcements,” the Hamas source said. “Yousef needs to hold his enthusiasm and stop making these statements that are not coordinated with all of the Hamas leadership.”

Contacted directly by WND, the offices of Ismail Haniyeh, the former Hamas prime minister, and Mahmoud al-Zahar, chief of Hamas in Gaza, both refused to deny the report of Hamas meetings with Obama aides.

Yousef could not be reached by WND for comment. Hamas sources said Yousef was directed to refrain from talking to the media for an unspecified period of time. It wasn’t clear which Obama aides Hamas is claiming to have met in Gaza.

Yousef gave WND a series of recent interviews in which he praised Obama as the leading candidate. Last week, he called Obama’s win a “historic victory” for the world and told WND that Hamas was sending a letter of congratulation to the president-elect.

Six months ago, Robert Malley, a Mideast expert described as an ancillary adviser to Obama, resigned amid a report in a London newspaper that he had contact with Hamas. According to some media reports, Malley is again representing Obama’s positions in meetings in Egypt and Syria, although it wasn’t immediately clear whether he was acting independently. FrontPageMagazine.com claims Malley was dispatched by Obama.

A senior Israeli security source told WND today Malley indeed recently represented Obama in meetings in Egypt and Syria.

Hamas is responsible for scores of suicide bombings, rocket attacks, shootings and cross-border raids. Its official charter calls for the murder of Jews and destruction of Israel. Just today, Hamas members took responsibility for launching dozens of rockets from Gaza aimed at Jewish civilian population centers.

Last week, Yousef told WND of Obama’s win: “This is a historic day, a turning point. I think this is the very first time in history that one country’s election concerned everyone everywhere all over [the] world. Everybody is looking forward to Obama’s change, for a change in the U.S. policy, particularly in the Israeli-Palestinian equation, which is the mother of all conflicts.”

Yousef said he believes an Obama administration will be more willing to engage in dialogue with Hamas.

He said Obama’s job will be to “restore America’s dignity in the world and put an end to the wars in the region.”

Yousef took the occasion to blast the policies of President Bush, commenting he hopes “that after January the Bush administration will not be heard from again.”

“We are sick of wars and conflict,” the Hamas official said.

Yousef seemed aware his comments may generate some negative publicity for Obama, but he said he feels it important to “reach out and to express our thoughts and engage.”

“I praised him six months ago, some people tried to use that against him. But I knew he would win. Like everyone else, we expected this important victory,” he said.

Yousef was referring to an interview he gave to WND and WABC Radio in April in which he praised Obama and then found his comments had fueled a firestorm of accusations in the presidential campaign.

In April, Yousef stated he hoped Obama would become president, comparing the Illinois senator to President John F. Kennedy.

“We like Mr. Obama, and we hope that he will win the election,” Yousef told WND at the time.

“I hope Mr. Obama and the Democrats will change the political discourse. … I do believe [Obama] is like John Kennedy, a great man with a great principle. And he has a vision to change America to make it in a position to lead the world community, but not with humiliation and arrogance,” Yousef said.

Sen. John McCain repeatedly used Yousef’s remarks to criticize Obama’s judgment and foreign policy.

Is this the end of America?

For 232 years, America has been the boldest, most successful experiment in personal liberty in the history of the world.

Today, many Americans are wondering whether that experiment has run its course – that we might be on the verge of trading our unique heritage of independent, sovereign, limited constitutional republicanism for interdependent globalism and virtually unlimited central government power unbridled by constitutional and moral restraints.

I am one of those wondering.

While I am not prepared to throw in the towel and give up, I believe it is absolutely essential that those who share my concerns reconsider their strategies for the future.

First of all, let me share what I think is the good news about Election Day – the silver lining beneath the dark cloud of Obamamania that has seemingly swept up our country in a semi-hypnotic trance of euphoric irrationality.

For some time, including in my widely misunderstood book, “None of the Above,” I have been trying to explain the pragmatic inevitability of these election results. Even if John McCain had figured out a way to beat Barack Obama in 2008, America was going to be saddled with him four years from now.

(Column continues below)

Let me go over this again. Neither of these candidates has or had the answers to address America’s most fundamental economic problems – and the concerns that literally handed Obama the White House. Had McCain been elected, his failed policy prescriptions – bailouts, higher government spending disguised as “economic stimulus packages,” tax plans that inhibit economic growth, energy policies whose very foundation is laid on a faulty assumption of manmade, catastrophic climate change and open immigration policies – would have resulted in more misery, more dislocation, more pain, more dissatisfaction. Congressional Democrats, who are great at pointing fingers of blame for their own failed policies, would do just that – claim McCain was the culprit. And a more experienced Barack Obama running for president in 2012 would be unstoppable.

Meanwhile, with McCain in the White House for four years, he would have remade the Republican Party in his own image – preventing the growth of a real alternative party based on the winning principles of freedom so clearly articulated by Ronald Reagan in the 1980s.

I have to tell you, again. We’re better off dealing with Obama and his radical agenda now, rather than being saddled with a president who is a Republican in name only – one whose own policy prescriptions would prove disastrous for the nation and his party’s future.

So, the silver lining is that a re-energized Republican Party, responsive to its base, has a chance to make great inroads in the Congress just two years from now and to find a new face of principled leadership for 2012.

After all, don’t we know that the Democrats’ socialist agenda is going to fail? Doesn’t socialism always fail? Didn’t we go through this in the Jimmy Carter years? Didn’t those years pave the way for the Reagan Revolution? Didn’t overreaching by Bill and Hillary Clinton in the first two years of their co-presidency result in the Republicans taking over the House of Representatives for the first time in 40 years?

Yes, there is going to be pain for many of us in the next four years. I fully expect Obama and the Democrats to press an agenda that is repressive and intended to keep them in power for a thousand years. They will push through a “Fairness Doctrine” to muzzle free speech on the broadcast airwaves. They will use their power to redraw district lines to protect their incumbents. They will rig the rules of campaign financing. They will encourage voter fraud through the taxpayer funding of groups like ACORN. They will use the courts to rewrite our Constitution.

But, at the end of the day, their policies are going to accomplish two things:

expose their own true nature as illiberal authoritarian thugs who will do anything to empower themselves;

wreck the economy even further – with no one else to blame for their failed socialist policies.
In other words, we have an opportunity to watch the Democrats self-destruct over the next four years. We need to be ready to pick up the pieces – to seize the opportunity that will surely be there in the next two to four years.

It is, indeed, a dark day in America. It’s unfortunate that enough Americans have been seduced into voting for a false political messiah. It is, indeed, a dangerous time for America. It’s unfortunate that enough Americans have been seduced into voting for a man totally inexperienced and unqualified for the office of the presidency.

But this election presents freedom-loving Americans with unique opportunities to reclaim their country relatively quickly – beginning in 2010 and 2012.

There’s a lot of work to do. The challenges will be great. It will not just happen on its own. Just as Barack Obama and the Democrats put together a winning strategy in 2008, those of us who steadfastly oppose their evil and hopelessly failed policies of the past must begin planning a political revolution of our own.

America bought the lies

America (and even many Christian Americans) bought the lie that the Democratic Party; now to enter the White House in January; is going to help ordinary people , improve the lot of working people, and aid the destitute. You call this compassion?

Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.
Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:

That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.

Matthew 6: 1-4

Today we’ll find out if Americans have really bought the lie that Barack Obama and his Democratic Party compatriots actually care about helping ordinary people, improving the lot of working people, aiding the destitute.

I don’t believe it for a minute. And, even if I did believe they were sincere about these goals, I recognize their methods – forcibly taking wealth and property from some and redistributing it to others of their choice – would never actually achieve their stated goals of reducing poverty.

But let’s focus today on motives.

Some people suggest you can’t really read someone’s heart. Some people think you can’t judge people’s actions or inactions. Some people seem to believe compassion is measured by how high you are willing to impose taxes on your neighbor.

I disagree.

(Column continues below)

I think virtue is measured by what you sacrifice willingly to help your neighbor, your family, your friends, your country.

By that standard, Barack Obama, Joe Biden and the Democratic Party get a failing grade.

In his own book, “Dreams From My Father,” Obama writes affectionately about his “Auntie Zeituni.”

Barack Obama is a millionaire today – on the verge of winning the presidency.

What has he done about checking on the welfare of his beloved Aunt Zeituni Onyango, one of the children of Barack Obama’s grandfather?

Apparently nothing. Barack Obama is too busy planning ways to change the country and save the planet to reach out a helping hand to an elderly relative in obvious need. It took the London Times to discover she lives in a disabled-access apartment in a rundown public housing complex in South Boston.

Aunt Zeituni joins other Obama relatives in varying states of destitution.

His “Uncle Omar,” also described in his autobiography, was recently beaten by armed robbers with a sawed-off rifle while working in a corner shop in the Dorchester area of Boston. He was later evicted from his one-bedroom apartment for failing to pay $2,324.20 in rent, according to the Boston Housing Court.

Then there’s the slightly better-known case of George Hussein Onyango, Obama’s half-brother in Kenya who, we learned months ago, was living on $1 a month.

What Has Barack Obama done to help any of these close relatives?

Again, apparently nothing.

That’s one of the real measures of compassion. And he has been found severely lacking.

There are other measures, too.

In 2004, the Obamas reported $207,647 in adjusted gross income and contributed a grand total of $2,500 to charity – just a hair over 1 percent of their income.

How about his running mate?

In 2004, the Bidens reported they had $234,271 in adjusted gross income and made contributions of $380.

This is what these men give freely of their own resources. They push for higher taxes for their neighbors, but are unwilling, or, as Biden might say, too unpatriotic, to fork over their own money to people in need.

With that kind of shocking record, it is amazing to me that so many Americans still believe their phony talk about compassion and duty and “the Sermon on the Mount.”

Jesus wasn’t talking about collective obligations in the Sermon on the Mount. He wasn’t talking about national obligations in the Sermon on the Mount. He wasn’t talking about community obligations in the Sermon on the Mount. He was talking about individual, personal commitments to the needy in the Sermon on the Mount.

You can’t be in obedience to Jesus’ commandments in the Sermon on the Mount because of your tax obligation. You can only be in obedience to Jesus’ commandments in the Sermon on the Mount on the basis of what you choose to do willingly as an individual.

Once again, Obama, Biden and the Democrats are like the Pharisees who made a show of piety but who betrayed the very spirit of the law.

Today, we’ll find out if that kind of public show still fools people.

Christians- Thank President Bush

This article articulates the good President Bush has done during the past eight years. We as Christians need to remember this and thank him. Liberal Christians should read this to to understand why Evangelical Christians voted him in and why again we will vote conservative in the 2008 election.
God demands us to be a light against the darkness ; HE does not wink at sin and neither should we. We should not tolerate politicians who pander to the Pro- choice movement or sexually immoral. We must remember God will judge these sins ; HE will also hold us accountable for not taking a stand against these sins . This accountabilty includes how we vote. That said here is the article.
Action Alert: Thank You, President Bush!
Thursday, October 30, 2008 at 4:31 PM

If you’re sick of the pre-election media environment, take heart – the yard signs, unwelcome political mail and grating television commercials will be gone soon. No matter how much they seemingly detract from the task before us, we can’t forget that choosing a leader of the free world is serious business.

Before either John McCain or Barack Obama become president-elect, we at CMC believe it’s appropriate to honor the service and leadership of President George W. Bush. You may not have supported all of his policies or all of his actions, but it is inarguable that a sovereign God placed this nation in his care, and he deserves our thanks for answering the challenge.

Click here to send an e-mail to President Bush, thanking him for his service.

George W. Bush’s most prominent legacy undoubtedly was determined Sept. 11, 2001, when radical Islamic terrorists brought down New York’s World Trade Center and severely damaged the Pentagon, killing thousands of people in the process. It’s safe to say that the President’s response – our resulting conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq – and the debate over it will dominate the historical accounts of this decade that our grandchildren will study someday.

We hope those history books will also mention the humility and grace the president has displayed on the public stage, both as a candidate who openly professed his faith in Jesus Christ and as a president who used the bully pulpit of the presidency to advocate for the sanctity of human life, the biblical definition of marriage and the Founding Fathers’ intent for the judicial branch of government. On these crucial issues, President Bush was right on target.

He set a tone for his emphasis on moral views in August 2001, when he limited federal funding for human embryonic stem-cell research to existing stem-cell lines. At the time it was, to some in the pro-life movement, an unpalatable compromise – but it reflected the reality that Big Science had been blithely using unique human lives for spare parts in their quest to solve medical mysteries, often sticking taxpayers for the bill.

Today, the moral issue over embryonic stem-cell research has nearly been made moot because of scientific breakthroughs. We hope that doesn’t overshadow the courage President Bush showed to profoundly limit the government’s involvement in funding the destruction of human life for science’s sake.

The President also used the power of his office to defend marriage. Cynics would suggest that he used the issue to mobilize “values voters” to his cause, but that ignores the reality of runaway judicial tyranny. The Massachusetts Supreme Court in 2003 did more to energize pro-family activists than any sitting politician could have, when they invented a “right” to same-sex marriage. President Bush can hardly be blamed for being on the right, and righteous, side of this issue.

His most lasting legacies may be the service of John Roberts and Samuel Alito, the Supreme Court justices he nominated during his second term. They are proving to be among the most capable jurists the court has had in decades. Even better, they seem to understand the constitutionally assigned role of the judicial branch of government, which clearly cannot be said for all of their colleagues.

President Bush has been vilified in the mainstream media and opinion press for many reasons over the last eight years, and much of that was to be expected. After all, Jesus Christ told his disciples, “If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you” (John 15:18, ESV); any true follower of His can expect the same treatment. Bush may not have been our first evangelical president, but historians will do well to note the price he paid for boldly declaring his faith while in office.

Before we select a new president, it’s fitting to thank the current occupant of the Oval Office. Click here to send an e-mail to President Bush, thanking him for his faithful service to America these past eight years. He deserves our appreciation and thanks.

John Hagee’s Insightful Devotions to read about ELECTION time

Filed under: Christianity, Elections, John Hagee, politics, Religon — Tags: , , , , — jasmine71 @ 9:09 pm

Here are a few insightful devotions by a godly preacher, John Hagee.

——————————————————————————–

It’s Your Choice
Summary:
Deuteronomy 30:19—
“I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; that you may love the LORD your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days;

It is election time! A time that can be full of worry and confusion as the media bombards us with confusing and troubling information. The resulting discouragement can breed negativity and grumbling that can thwart sound decision-making when it comes our time to vote. Casting your vote for the wrong candidate or not voting at all are the tragic outcomes of not properly exerting your “power to choose.”

On Super Tuesday 2008, Janet Folger of Faith 2 Action had some good advice: “Fast for 2 hours from the polls, the pundits and the papers. God is more powerful. Take Him at His Word. Turn off the TV and get on your knees.”

She is right, God’s standards are clear and we have a choice to do what is right not only in the case of voting according to God’s Word, but also in our day-to-day living. It is simple…we have the power to choose, so choose life in all that you do!

Are you destroying your life with your attitude? Are you capable, intelligent qualified, but your attitude is so negative you are destroying those you live with, work with, and love? Have you have turned your home into a battleground filled with sarcasm, criticism, blame, cutting remarks, bitterness, and rejection?

I urge you to take charge of your mind, your marriage, your future, your destiny, and your soul. Refuse to grumble and criticize—duct tape your mouth if need be. Refuse to retreat from life and run from success. It is time to stomp your way to a new beginning in Christ. Let your mind begin to feast on the Word of God that produces positive change. “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things: (Phil. 4:8).

Instead of saying, “I can’t,” start saying, “Whatever is born of God overcomes the world” (1John 5:4). Instead of saying, “If—“ start saying, “I will by God’s grace.” Instead of saying “It’s impossible,” start saying, “Nothing is impossible to those who believe.” Refuse to “be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of ‘God” (Rom. 12:2). Tell yourself that there is no victory without a fight; there is no sunrise without a night; there is no purchase without a cost; and there is no crown without a cross. You are a child of God…a member of royalty…and God does not manufacture junk or sponsor flops. The victory is yours through Christ, but the choice is up to you. (The Life Plan Study Bible, p. 386)

Matthew 6:9-10
Summary: “In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father which art in heaven hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
“Let’s focus on the tenth verse. ‘Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.’ In heaven, God’s will is the only priority. In heaven the will of God is instantly obeyed by angels and archangels who do His bidding instantly, immediately, and without question. Jesus taught us that prayer, because He was saying that it is preeminent in the mind of God that His will be the top priority in our life.

Thy will be done on earth as it is done in heaven, that there is no question that the will of God will be done; that it will be done in the church; that it will be done in your home. That it will be done your schools; that it will be done in your marriages; that the word of God is the law of your life. When you do the will of God, then you can do the work of God, and you can do the work of God by the power of God. But the bible says: ‘If you abide in Me and My words abide in you, then you can ask what you will and anything will be done.’

But if there’s not that abiding process, you can forget about all of the power and the attributes of God. When Jesus was teaching on the vine and the branches, He said: ‘Except you abide in Me, you can do nothing.’ If there’s not an abiding relationship as evidenced by the maintenance of the will of God, then you don’t have a relationship. Jesus said: “You are My disciples if you do whatsoever I ask you.’

The will of God is not some illusion. It was very clearly etched in the word of God. How is God going to control the earth? How will God control America? When the people in the church start doing the will of God. There’s are 60 million Americans who are Bible-believing Christians; there’s no way that this country should be in its current condition with that many Christians. If we went into the voting booth and 60 million of us voted one way, it would be impossible for us to have corrupt politicians in office.

We’re not doing the will of God and it is time that we start.” -Pastor John C. Hagee

James Dobson

What would America look like after four years of a Barack Obama administration?

“Hardship,” “persecution” and “suffering” are among the prospects in a hypothetical letter from a “Christian from 2012” released today by evangelical leader James Dobson’s political activist group Focus on the Family Action.

Titled “Letter from 2012 in Obama’s America,” the piece clearly targets the many evangelical Christians seeking “change,” particularly the young, who could tip the election in favor of the Illinois Democrat. At the end of the letter, the fictional Christian laments that these people “simply did not realize Obama’s far-left agenda would take away many of our freedoms as a nation, perhaps permanently,” pointing to a new, liberal-majority Supreme Court unlikely to change for 30 more years.

“I get tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat,” says the fictional writer. “Now in October of 2012, after seeing what has happened in the last four years,” America is no longer “the land of the free and the home of the brave.”

“Many of our freedoms have been taken away by a liberal Supreme Court and a majority of Democrats in both the House and the Senate, and hardly any brave citizen dares to resist the new government policies any more,” the letter writer says.

Focus on the Family Action, established as a separate legal entity from Focus on the Family, has expanded abilities under the IRS code to lobby for political change.

Carrie Gordon Earll, senior director of public policy for Focus on the Family Action, affirmed to WND the letter is designed to address a “concerted effort by Obama and Democrats to capture people of faith since 2004.”

“Certainly, I think, younger evangelicals may be swayed by the rhetoric and charisma of Obama without really having the historical perspective of what allowing liberal Democrats to control government would do,” she said.

“I think a lot of Americans are not connecting the dots, that this would be the first time since 1965 that liberals have dominated the White House, Congress and, potentially, the Supreme Court.”

Earll affirmed that Dobson has not endorsed Republican nominee Sen. John McCain but plans to vote for him.

In a preface, Focus on the Family Action explains the letter is a “What if?” exercise, but insists “that does not make it empty speculation, because every future ‘event’ described here is based on established legal and political trends that can already be abundantly documented and that only need a ‘tipping point’ such as the election of Senator Obama and a Democratic House and Senate to begin to put them into place.”

Focus adds that evangelicals on both sides of the election should “continue to respect and cherish each other’s friendship as well as the freedom people have in the United States to differ on these issues and to freely speak our opinions about them to one another.”

Nevertheless, the footnoted letter anticipates an America, under Obama, that realizes the worst fears of Dobson and his millions of supporters.

Among the possible developments by 2012:

Six liberal justices sit on the Supreme Court after the immediate resignation of John Paul Stevens and Ruth Bader Ginsburg and the later resignations of Antonin Scalia and Anthony Kennedy.

Homosexual marriage has been ruled a constitutional right that must be respected by all 50 states.

The Boy Scouts have disbanded rather than obey a decision forcing them to allow homosexual scoutmasters. (The Scouts already had been kicked out of public facilities because of an expansion of the 1964 Civil Rights Act to cover people who engage in homosexual behavior.)

Elementary schools have compulsory training in varieties of gender identity. Courts rule parents cannot opt out their children, because the training is deemed essential to psychological health.

Evangelical and Catholic adoption agencies cease to exist after the Supreme Court rules they must agree to place children with homosexuals or lose their licenses.

Church buildings are now considered a “public accommodation” by the United States Supreme Court, and churches have no freedom to refuse to allow their buildings to be used for wedding ceremonies for homosexual couples.

High schools are no longer free to allow “see you at the pole” meetings where students pray together or any student Bible studies even before or after school.

The Supreme Court barred public schools in all 50 states from allowing churches to rent their facilities, even on Sundays, when school was not in session.

Obama signed the Freedom of Choice Act, as he promised the Planned Parenthood Action Fund last year, nullifying hundreds of state laws that had created even the slightest barrier to abortion.

The Supreme Court in 2011 nullified all Federal Communications Commission restrictions on obscene speech or visual content in radio and TV broadcasts, and television programs at all hours of the day now contain explicit portrayals of sexual acts.

As a result of a reversal of its 5-4 decision in the D.C. gun-ownership case, it is now illegal for private citizens to own guns for self-defense in eight states, and the number is growing with increasing Democratic control of state legislatures and governorships

Parents’ freedom to teach their children at home has been severely restricted nationwide after the Supreme Court followed the legal reasoning of a Feb. 28, 2008, ruling by the Second District Court of Appeal in California.
The letter also “recalls” a President Obama fulfilling his campaign promise to withdraw U.S. troops from Iraq, resulting in a flood of al-Qaida operatives from Syria and Iran pouring into Iraq and completely overwhelming Iraqi security forces.

“A Taliban-like oppression has now taken over in Iraq, and hundreds of thousands of ‘American sympathizers’ have been labeled as traitors, imprisoned, tortured, and killed,” the letter says. “The number put to death may soon reach into the millions. Al-Qaida leaders have been emboldened by what they are calling this American ‘defeat’ and their ranks are swelling in dozens of countries.”

The letter also looks back at an explosion of terrorist bombs in two large and two small U.S. cities, killing hundreds and spreading fear across the nation.

“President Obama in each case has vowed ‘to pursue and arrest and prosecute those responsible,’ but no arrests have yet been made,” the letter says.

Obama ‘tested’

The hypothetical letter plays on vice presidential candidate Joe Biden’s warning to fundraisers last Sunday in Seattle that some hostile foreign country will test the inexperienced Obama in his first six months of office.

In early 2009, the letter says, Russia “followed the pattern they had begun in Georgia in 2008 and sent troops to occupy and re-take several Eastern European countries, starting with the Ukraine, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.”

But the Russians don’t stop there, occupying over the next three years former satellite nations, including Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Bulgaria, “with no military response from the U.S. or the U.N.”

By 2012, health care has been nationalized with a single payer system patterned after the United Kingdom and Canada.

“The great benefit is that medical care is now free for everyone – if you can get it,” the letter writer says. “Now that health care is free it seems that everybody wants more of it. The waiting list for prostate cancer surgery is 3 years. The waiting list for ovarian cancer is 2 years.”

Care also has been limited for older Americans, the letter says.

“Because medical resources now must be rationed carefully by the government, people over 80 have essentially no access to hospitals or surgical procedures. Their ‘duty’ is increasingly thought to be to go home to die, so that they don’t drain scarce resources from the medical system.”

Devastated economy

The letter says many Christians voted for Obama because they thought his tax policies were more fair and his “middle class tax cuts” would bring the economy out of its 2008 crisis.

“But once he took office he followed the consistent pattern of the Democratic Party and the pattern of his own past record and asked Congress for a large tax increase,” the letter says. “He explained that the deficit had grown so large under President Bush, and the needs of the nation were so great, that we simply couldn’t afford to cut taxes at the present time.”

Several of Obama’s economic policies have hurt the poor most of all, says the letter, because they have decreased production, increased inflation and increased unemployment, leading to a prolonged recession.

“Tax rates have gone up on personal income, dividends, capital gains, corporations and inheritance transfers. The amount of income subject to Social Security tax has nearly doubled.”

The effect on the economy has been devastating, says the letter.

“When critics objected that Obama’s tax policies were leading to inflation and unemployment, he responded that our goal should not be merely to increase America’s materialism and wealth and prosperity, but to obtain a more just distribution of wealth, even if it costs everybody a little to achieve that important goal,” the letter says.

The Focus on the Family Action letter also sees gas at $7 a gallon, because Obama has refused to allow any additional drilling in the U.S. But many Democrats openly applaud the high prices since they reduce oil consumption and thus lower carbon dioxide output.

Goodbye to talk radio

Another development is restoration of the “Fairness Doctrine,” which required that radio stations provide “equal time” for alternative views on political questions.

As a result, “nearly all conservative stations have now gone out of business or switched to alternative formats such as country or gospel or other music. Conservative talk radio, for all intents and purposes, was shut down by the end of 2010.”

The fictional letter writer concludes that Christian share much of the blame, having chosen Obama because they believed he “sounded so thoughtful, so reasonable.”

“And during the campaign, after he had won the Democratic nomination, he seemed to be moving to the center in his speeches, moving away from his earlier far-left record,” the letter says. “No one thought he would enact such a far-left, extreme liberal agenda.”

Earlier in the letter, the fictional writer notes that after many Supreme Court decisions, particularly those that restricted free speech, Obama “publicly expressed strong personal disapproval of the decision and said that the Supreme Court had gone far beyond anything that he ever expected or thought that it would do.”

“But he has also stated repeatedly that he had sworn to ‘preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States,’ and, now that the Supreme Court had ruled, he had no choice but to uphold the law, for these decisions were now the law of the land.”

Americans should have known what they were getting into by choosing Obama, the letter says, his record “was all there for anyone to see.”

“The agenda of the ACLU, the agenda of liberal activist judges in their dissenting opinions, the agenda of the homosexual activists, the agenda of the environmental activists, the agenda of the National Education Association, the agenda of the global warming activists, the agenda of the abortion rights activists, the agenda of the gun control activists, the agenda of the euthanasia supporters, the agenda of the one-world government pacifists, the agenda of far-left groups in Canada and Europe – all of these agendas were there in plain sight, and all of these groups provided huge support for Senator Obama. The liberal agenda was all there. But too many people just didn’t want to see it. Christians didn’t take time to find out who Barack Obama was when they voted for him. Why did they risk our nation’s future on him? It was a mistake that changed the course of history.”
